This quaint town began with 50 permanent residences in 1914. Since then, the Idyllwild area has become increasingly popular in Southern California. This charming community is filled with history ranging from the Native Americans to the early loggers and “Idyllwild in the movies.” Visitors and historians can both be excited by this place, as there is a movement to preserve this area as a historical district, making Idyllwild the first Historical District in Riverside County.
